Scrolling less and producing more

In the last couple of years, I have been consuming a lot of content on the internet. I have been reading articles, watching videos, listening to podcasts, and scrolling through social media feeds. I have been learning a lot of new things, but I have also been wasting a lot of time.

I have realized over time that I want to engage with content in a more meaningful way. I want to read fewer articles, watch fewer videos, and listen to fewer podcasts. I want to focus on consuming high-quality content that is relevant to my interests and goals. Also I want to learn more and to retain more of what I learn.

With these goals in back of my mind, I really resonated with the youtube video titled 5 Life-changing books YOU MUST READ in 2025 by Clark Kegley. In this video, Clark emphasizes the need to move away from this superficial consumption and instead focus on deeply engaging with ideas to allow them to truly impact and change one’s life. He says that generating.

Another video that I found interesting was Write More And Scroll Less by Rob Pirie. In this video, Rob discusses the detrimental effects of excessive consumption, particularly through scrolling on social media. He emphasizes the importance of creating more and consuming less to achieve a healthier mental balance.

So in the next year, I will be focusing on writing more often. Some of the writings I will publish on this blog, while others will be kept private either in Notion or in DayOne. I will be focusing on learning more and retaining more of what I learn.
