Subscriptions 2024

I have been using a lot of software tools and services in the last few years. Some of them are free, some of them are paid. Here is a list of software subscriptions I am currently paying for.

Apps

Notion (46€ per year):
Have been using Notion for a few years now and I am very happy with it. I use Notion for note-taking, project management, and knowledge management.

MoneyWiz (19.99€ per year):
Switched from YNAB few years ago to track my expenses and income because of the price and features. It is a great app for personal finance management.

CleanShot X (32€ per year):
I started using CleanShot X a few months ago and I am very happy with it. I mostly use it for my work to take screenshots and screen recordings but it is also great for personal use.

1Password (58€ per year):
I’m using 1Password Family plan for personal and work-related passwords. My wife and I share a vault for shared passwords. She also has her own vault for her personal passwords and another one for work-related passwords.

Services

Google One AI Premium (22€ per month):
This is probably the most expensive subscription I have. I started using Gemini to help me study and research more efficiently. It is a great tool for organizing and managing research papers, articles, and notes. It also includes 2TB of Google Drive storage which my wife and I are using for Google Photos and Google Drive.

Backblaze (5€ per month):
I use it as a backup for Synology NAS where I store all my photos, videos, and documents.

Streaming Services

YouTube Premium (11.99€ per month):
This is the only streaming service that I use. I like the ad-free experience and the ability to download videos for offline viewing. Plus it replaces Apple Music and Spotify which I was using before. We also have HBO Max, but it is free with my cell phone plan.

Total

I am happy to report that I’m spending around 600€ annually on software subscriptions. I think it is a reasonable amount considering the value I get from these tools and services. I will keep an eye on this list and make changes to optimize it for my ever changing needs. This applies in particular to AI services, which are still in their infancy and are constantly evolving.
